CU College of Business & Administration
For the CU College of Business & Administration, branding and a consistent publication look was created. CU wanted to rebrand their image and produce collateral that would help move the school to the next level of recognition as a premier school of business offering abundant global career opportunities. The graphics had to be versatile for a wide range of uses and publications (such as brochures, reports, business cards, ads, website, t-shirts) and to portray a progressive and innovative image to the target audience. The logo’s globe image and longitudinal markings used in the brochure cover designs emphasize the expanding horizons offered within the college. The cover’s three-column format maintains an element of consistency among the family of brochures (Recruiter’s Guide, Portfolio, Undergraduate School , Graduate School Catalog) while allowing the photos flexability depending on the publication and purpose. With a global branding and a professional academic environment, the school landed major funding and an increase in foreign students.
Mascot Fundraising Brochure for the Athletic Department
The target audience for this brochure included alumni and business executives, With the mascot costumes, travel and goodwill appearances costing upwards of thousands of dollars, a brochure and campaign for fundraising was needed. The headline “Chip in for Chip”, Chip is the name of the mascot and set the stage for the campaign. The brochure was used as a handout to potential contributors. Goodwill photos were used with related copy portraying Chip’s daily activities.
Athletic Department Mentoring Brochure
The mentoring program at University of Colorado at Boulder (CU) was created to facilitate interactive opportunities between adult business professionals, community leaders, university faculty and current athletes. The purpose of the program was to help prepare student athletes for life beyond college athletics. Collateral needed to appeal to a broad spectrum — from business executives to student athletes. Designed an oversize tri-panel brochure to stand out from other brochures. A campus shot used on the cover reinforced the school’s commitment to life-long learning. CU’s athletic logo placed on the cover immediately connected the mentoring program to athleticswithout being a dominate element. Photos of various sports activities used within the brochure further emphasize the program’s focus. The use of four-color processing and gold ink give the brochure a rich feel, as does the gold foil stamp on the pocket folder. A response card prompted a “call to action” on the inside panel of the brochure.
The athletic department was trying to raise funds for their mascot "chip". We came up with the theme Chip in for Chip and more than enough funds were raised.
